Hö'oli Happy Hens

Here is the deal with our Ho'oli Hens. They are spoiled no doubt about it. They are are raised with aloha. They are allowed to roam, hunt bugs, eat grass and be curious. We have currently 50 assorted hens (Rhode Island Reds, Ameraucanas, Australorps)and Bozo our Rooster.

A typical day for Hooli Hens
  • Rise and Shine have breakfast: Feed, no antibodies or meds added.
  • 10 am out of hen house to free roam all day.
  • Roaming out and about on a 5 acre macademia nut and kona coffee farm, eating bugs and grass all day.
  • 5 pm Hens come home to their hen house and fed fruit, veggies from garden and feed. Along with herbs for natural digestion.
  • Sunset hens are on their roost and safe for the night.

Eggs from our hens allowed to peck on pasture are a heck of a lot better than those from chickens raised in cages! Most of the eggs currently sold in supermarkets are nutritionally inferior to eggs produced by hens raised on pasture and allowed to roam freely. Hens raised on pasture may contain:
• 1⁄3 less cholesterol• 1⁄4 less saturated fat• 2⁄3 more vitamin A• 2 times more omega-3 fatty acids• 3 times more vitamin E• 7 times more beta carotene

Our egg yolks are deep yellow and no smell, compare to the eggs brought from the store. We currently sell our eggs to our friends, family and community. $5.00 per dozen. We always run out of eggs, I think people buy from us cause they know how we treat our animals with aloha and our hens are happy.

Oh yes if you ever want to visit our hens call us they love visitors.
